Rebie is a multi-awarded artist and product designer, and internationally-certified life coach, whose co-founding of AGILE springs from her conviction that sustainable development must be co-created with marginalized communities. Grounded in a background in psychology, her evocative digital paintings probe identity, memory, and emotional complexity—transforming intimate personal stories into universal experiences. As a feminist and gender equality advocate, she advances art’s role in advocacy and its place in the broader world, infusing every project with profound insight into the human condition and a commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Her accolades include the Lorenzo il Magnifico Special Commendation from the Jury at the XIV Florence Biennale 2023; Bronze in Accessories Design, Honorable Mentions in Accessories Design, Textile Design, and Sustainable Fashion at the International Design Awards 2021; and the Special Merit Award at the 5th Annual All Women Art Competition 2016.

Bringing deep expertise in design thinking, product development, branding, and social entrepreneurship, Rebie has conducted design thinking workshops—including at the University of the Philippines College of Education in November 2017—and co-leads AGILE’s material-innovation work with the same ingenuity she applied as chief product designer of Quarkus. Her award-winning convertible bag—crafted from recycled kimono fabrics—and the Tupi foldable bag inspired by Japanese furoshiki exemplify how discarded materials can become sustainable livelihoods for home-based artisans. These initiatives mirror AGILE’s vision of eco-industrialization from below, turning local challenges into inclusive, sustainable green value chains that honor cultural symbols and boost community resilience.

Rebie’s co-creative ethos extends into AGILE’s social-innovation, knowledge-commoning, and participatory-action-research programs. She has partnered with Barangay Tumana to supply floatable, weather-resistant emergency go-bags in 2019, cast a spotlight on the ‘Me Too’ movement during the Women’s Month Celebration Exhibit at Miriam College in 2018, and co-organized an art auction for Marawi siege survivors in 2017. She facilitates workshops, online courses, and grassroots mapping exercises, weaving solidarity, care, diversity, and antifragility into every collaboration. Through her facilitation, presentation, and research skills—balanced with an autodidact’s independence and a competitive drive for impact—Rebie embodies AGILE’s mission to empower artisans and entrepreneurs as architects of their own sustainable futures.
